Earth Day with Terra Cura
Students are the future caretakers of our Earth. Our Earth Day activities will help empower kids to have a positive impact on the planet. Students will learn about, and discuss, the differences between the commercial and local food systems. We will also discuss what “food security” means and whether or not Plymouth has any areas that may be considered “food deserts”. Students will explore permaculture topics, such as composting, water catchment and whole system design. We will also make our own lunch using some locally sourced ingredients as well as tracking the origin of the other recipe ingredients.
Students will participate in a beekeeping presentation and honey tasting and will do a planting activity to take home.
